I have worked with Deborah Lockemeyer as a clinician on a regular monthly basis since November 2000. As a professional with 20 years experience in the horse business, I have encountered a fair number of professionals and students, whose focus was to become a dressage expert, and find Mrs. Lockemeyer to be an exceptional candidate for the task.  Not only is her motivation to become a well-educated professional outstanding, but she has an extremely good feel for a horse, and a very perceptive eye when it comes to teaching students from the ground. Her knowledge regarding dressage is far above average, and she works hard to improve her riding and teaching skills. Having observed her students schooling at home, as well as competing at shows, I am impressed with the excellent progress they make over a fairly brief period of time. She is extremely self disciplined, hardworking and dedicated. Additionally, she is willing to travel in order to bring dressage to students.
Mrs. Lockemeyer accompanied me on an educational trip to Germany over the winter of 2001-02 during which she toured various facilities, competently rode many different horses at different levels of training, while furthering her understanding of the German training system. Once home, I observed improved teaching and training as a result of that increased knowledge and understanding. Also, she is able to train a horse and/or rider in an individualized way, fitting the specific needs of both. She has been especially successful with her JR/YR students.

At 40 years old, I met Debbie and was welcomed into her facility with open arms. I had never ridden a horse before.

This woman has the patience of a Saint!! She stood at the end of a lunge line with this VERY timid woman and encouraged me and educated me. I did not realize then just how valuable that was. I am consistently complimented on my seat, correct position and quiet hands. All of which I credit to Debbie.

13 years later and I own my own horse and am a FEI Para Dressage competitor. I will never forget the day that she looked up at me and said "Annie, you can do this!". She has a well trained eye, impeccable morals and values, and is a true horseman.

Although I moved to Florida about 8 years ago, I continue to talk with Debbie regularly, and often turn to her for guidance. Every time I return to the area, my helmet and boots come with me so that I can take a lesson or two.

I would never hesitate to recommend Pegasus Dressage for lessons, to put your horse into correct and kind training, or for boarding your equine partner. It will be the best decision you ever make!

Debbie is a great instructor, very knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge with anyone she is working with. Best trainer I have worked with in my 40 yrs of horse ownership.
